Cattle are ungulates from planet Cowplug VIII which are commonly raised for meat and milk, and have been exported to other planets such as Hylia and Earth. Some of them can survive in the vacuum of space and are found floating in the Milky Way. It's long been rumored that one of them once jumped over Earth's moon, Luna, but most scientists regard this as nonsense.
A few cattle are intelligent enough to resent being exploited, and have formed a terrorist organization called the Bovine Liberation Organization under the leadership of Saddam Holstein. This is probably why it was decided to breed a variety of Cattle that actually wants to be eaten, known as the Ameglian Major Cow.
