Vanarxes, commonly referred to in parlance as Yeerkbanes, are the only known natural predator of the Yeerks. They are purple, spineless translucent tubes with a mouth on one end, lined with thousands of slimy suckers that can pull a Yeerk out of a Controller’s head or a Yeerk pool. Vanarxes also supplement their diets with other small invertebretes. Many species fear this monster on account of its looking scary, although most of them are perfectly safe.
